Guatemala Mission

Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing love and compassion to the poor and needy in Guatemala.  Jesus was fully God in the flesh yet He humbled Himself as a man and showed us how to have compassion.

His Hands International has helped hundreds of children and families in Guatemala since formed in 2006.  We are a small and simple ministry.  We work with one child, one family, one village at a time.  We take what God has blessed us with and use it to His glory.  We have placed hundreds of pairs of shoes on needy children’s feet.  We have provided funds to renovate classroom space for a church.  We have provided vitamins, medicine, food, clothing, back packs, school supplies, and so much more.  We also on many occasions have helped buy school uniforms and pay for books and tuition for some children.  Most importantly we show these children love and compassion by our actions.  They know that we genuinely love and care for them despite their home situation.

Now, we are taking another step of faith.  In 2012 we purchased land in Buena Vista, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.  This property is strategically located about 45 minutes from Guatemala City, Antigua, and the airport.  At an elevation around 7500′ we’re surrounded by thousands of children and families that could use some help long term.  The kind of help we want to provide is not just another hand out, but we want to provide educational opportunities for these families to better their lives.  Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime.  We will teach a wide range of subjects from proper sanitation procedures, farming and aquaponics, electrical and mechanical, business management, and many more as we see a need.

We have led medical mission trips and have seen that there’s a need in this area for a permanent medical facility to help.  In April 2014 we are taking a step of faith to break ground and begin the construction on a technologically advanced center.  The clinic will be connected to teaching medical universities around the world giving our patients the best medical care possible.  Our educational center will also have the latest technology connecting our classroom to the world, giving us endless teaching opportunities.  We are planning on making this facility as energy efficient as possible to keep our future costs down, thus maximizing our help to the people of Guatemala.

Please take some time and read the stories on our site.  See the lives we have already touched in Jesus name.  And then pray for us.  We need lots of prayer as we take this giant leap of faith.  Personally, I do not know where the money is going to come from to fund this project.  But I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt that HE WILL provide.  Philippians 4:19  I just have to be obedient and take that step forward with the vision He has given.  Philippians 4:13!

We are led by HIS Spirit, to be HIS hands, to do HIS work, to bring HIM the Glory!
