Center of Dreams in Action

Week by week we are moving forward with more and more activities at our Center of Dreams. We are blessed to have Melissa volunteering as part of her studies in social work. She is teaching the community about various subjects from general health practices to water safety and conservation and more. She always has a fun activity that gets everyone involved and brings the lesson together for everyone to better understand.

We have the feeding center open and provide hot meals for any children that are hungry. We keep basic staples on hand and welcome any child who is hungry to come anytime. We are starting a new program in March where we will be providing meals 3 times a week to at least 30 children.

So often all these children have at home are tortillas and beans, and I have been told some only have had tortillas with salt to eat at times. Our desire is that no child goes hungry in our village.

It does not take much money to feed these children, but it does take money. We are asking folks to help us with a monthly donation of any amount. Our desire is to expand this with more children as we can. We take whatever money God gives us, even if it’s just 2 little fish and five loaves of bread, we ask God to bless and multiply, and HE ALWAYS does.

We have operated like this for 19 years; God has been faithful, no doubt. I was talking with my wife this past week and saying how few donations we have had coming in from outside sources, a majority of what we do is because of God’s blessing upon our business and our charitable giving, which we are fine with, but we sure could do so much more had we had others participating.

Would you please prayerfully consider getting involved this year. Give up a coffee once in a while or eating out and use that money to help us feed and educate these children, we do!
