First I need to make clear, this has nothing to do with our current ministry or ministry team working here or in Guatemala, rather a former relationship and legal entity I founded and started in Guatemala that we have lost control of.
His Hands International, Inc. or His Hands International of the United States, or David R Varner, has no legal connection, nor has created any debts, nor will be responsible for any debts created in the past or the future, or any other acts by His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G created on November 17, 2009 and with a NIT of 6901622-4 registered with SAT. His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G in no way represents or is in any way a part of His Hands International, Inc. or His Hands International of the United States, or associated or connected in anyway with David R. Varner. Furthermore no donations or funding to His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G are made from His Hands International, Inc, His Hands International of the United States, or David R. Varner or anyone associated with us, even though their documents indicate that they receive donations from us, they do not.
I am truly saddened that I have had to write this publication. At the direction of multitude of counselors I needed to publicly document the fraud and injustice done to me and the organization I founded in the USA and Guatemala, in order to protect the good works and reputation God has blessed us with, and to further dispute any debts created by others acting as His Hands International of Guatemala, O.N.G. In addition trying to put distance between us and the other organization I founded. As you continue to read, everything will become clear. First I want to say that prior to this publication, every Biblical opportunity to allow them to do the right thing was afforded. My closest and most trusted team in Guatemala that GOD has brought together, afforded them every opportunity to do the right thing. We took it a step further and went to the individuals Pastor, to explain what was going on and ask the church leaders for help, both individuals refused to come to the meeting. So we followed Biblical protocol in dealing with an issue with a “fellow brother”, at this point, only God knows their true hearts and salvation.
As the Founder of His Hands International, Inc. here in the USA, God through the Holy Spirit and scripture gave inspiration to the founding of this ministry. He, the Holy Spirit further gave revelation to the name and logo, through prayer and fasting. I, David R. Varner was given direction and inspiration through the Holy Spirit and His word, the Bible, to start this organization for the sole purpose of child evangelism, and helping the poor in Guatemala in Jesus name. I give God all the credit, none of what has been done, nor anything God is doing through me, is of me, it is the work of the Holy Spirit working in and through me and our team. It is HIS still small voice that gives direction and inspiration. August 21, 2006, His Hands International, Inc. was recognized by the United States Government Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
For the next several years I worked with another individual in Guatemala, directly as my ministry partner doing various works in Guatemala helping poor children. After a 15 passenger van was donated to His Hands International, Inc., and shipped to Guatemala to myself, David R. Varner and His Hands International, Inc., I found out that because I did not have a legal non-profit entity in Guatemala, I had to pay a very large import tax. It was then that I decided to pursue setting up a legal entity in Guatemala. His Hands International of Guatemala, O.N.G., was set up so as the ministry grows in the future and God blessed us with other goods or vehicles, we would not have to waist precious donated funds to pay taxes.
I, David R. Varner was to be listed as the Founder and President of the organization, and others as the Vice President, Secretary and Legal Representative. I was assured that my direction would be followed and sent the ($2500-3500 to my relocation) to set up the legal organization in Guatemala. During my next visit several months later, I asked if everything was ready and if I needed to sign any documents. The response was no brother everything is done. Puzzled, I asked to see the documents. At that time if my memory is correct, they were not readily available, and I was told that another individual, who was acting as our legal representative had them. If memory recalls, I met with him a day or so later to view the documents. To my dismay, my name was not listed as the President, or Founder, in fact my name was no where to be found in any of the documents, other than a statement that donations are received from His Hands International of the United States. I was given what I know now as an excuse, that because I was not a resident of Guatemala, I could not be listed. I believe this in fact was an outright lie of deceit for them to have complete control of the organization to do what they wanted. At the time I did not know any better and put my complete trust in the individuals I was working with, which has turned out to be a huge mistake and nightmare for our organization. Instead another person was listed as the President, and his wife as the VP. Looking back, they basically stole my legal rights, organization, and the name that the Holy Spirit gave me for the organization.
If my memory recalls, it was only a few months after His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G was established that their real agenda became evident. They began to pursue projects through the government of Guatemala. I advised that this was not the direction of our ministry and that they were not to pursue any such projects. One such project was to install a sanitation system and sewage treatment plant for a community. This project would cost millions of dollars and the ministry stood to make a lot of money from this project as the manager, or potentially loose money if the government at the time refused to pay but yet force us to complete the work. This was not the direction the Holy Spirit gave me and they were told to stop everything and put everything on hold for a time of prayer and fasting. Unfortunately, my wishes were not kept. I had our email system set up so that I also received all emails that came into our office in Guatemala to my in box. One email came in that ended it all. A forged letter was drafted on official His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G letter head addressed to the United States Embassy, where I had invited the two individuals to come to the United States for a meeting at the US Corporate Offices of His Hands International, Inc. The letter was asking permission to grant them an official US Visa. When I received this, I was outraged and immediately called them to let him know that this was fraud and I would not stand for it. It was morally wrong as well. Secondly, I notified the US Embassy in Guatemala as to their fraudulent attempt to obtain US Visas using my name and the name of His Hands International and forwarded the forged letter to them as evidence.
A short time later, after none of my calls were being answered or returned, I made an unannounced visit to Guatemala to confront them face to face about this. When I arrived at one individuals house, he denied it all and told me to go see the other person and that he would not talk about it. I called the other individual and told him to assemble all the board members of the organization I wanted to have an emergency meeting. Only one person showed up. During the meeting it was just the opposite, it was all the other persons fault, one blaming the other. There were new cell phone contracts, and cable TV for the office that were set up and not authorized by me, yet they were using the money I was sending to help the children for their foolish gain. Both later denied it and so there is this back and forth one blaming the other. I basically told the legal representative that this was their mess and I am washing my hands of this and not providing any further funding to them and that since my name was not listed, I had nothing to do with the organization and their mess. I also told them that they were to no longer use the name logo or trademark of His Hands International, Inc. And I walked away from the mess they created. Looking back, I wished I have had the board of directors remove them both from power, but at the time I had no clue what the future held for me in Guatemala because of this mess.
A while later, it came to my attention that they were still soliciting funds from people and using the logo trademark and name of His Hands International. I again, sent the legal representative a message to cease all activity using the name and logo trademark of His Hands International. And for the longest time, up until my last visit in August 2018, I thought they had stopped using the organization. One individual had told my project coordinator, that he had nothing to do with it anymore. I set up a meeting with the person who had all our documents. During the meeting, my trusted friend and ministry partner and I, repeatedly asked the individual to surrender the documents of His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G back to me the Founder so I can have the board of directors appoint new leaders and I could finally gain control of the organization I founded. He proudly showed me a new checking account he apparently just opened with BAK a Guatemalan bank, I was horrified when I saw His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G. written on the checks and knew they did not stop using the organization and that we had a big problem.
The individual continued to tell us that he had projects and he could not surrender the O.N.G. When pressed for an answer as to what projects he was working on, he would not tell us. I told him, that I would be glad to help him continue those projects, if they fell under our current vision, but I must first inspect those projects with my team. He continued to refuse any answer as to any current projects. My team appealed to him from a spiritual and biblical aspect of what they did was wrong and that he needed to do the right thing and that we could help him. At the conclusion of the meeting, he said he would think about it and meet with us the next day at the same time. When the next day came, he never showed, but communicated that he would not surrender the organization. I sent him an official cease and desist text message on Facebook, my only means of communicating with him. His response was as follows which I translated with Google, names have been removed and replaced with XXXXX:

The motivation behind this change and reclaiming the organization I founded is two fold, first and foremost, God has tremendously blessed our ministry over the last 3 years. Currently all of the ministries assets are held privately under either my name, or another persons name, or under GuatSat Comunicaciones, which is a communications business I have started in Guatemala. Fully legal and completely separate from our ministry. However, in an effort to be fully transparent and protect the assets of the ministry and our personnel, we need to have a way to keep the ministry assets separate. Having the non-profit or ONG as they are called in Guatemala would make that easy and give us that protection and transparency. Secondly, I have no earthly clue as to what is going on, or what has been done using the His Hands International name by them. In an effort to protect the name and ministry that the Holy Spirit breathed into my spirit, I need them to stop using the name to protect the work we have done and will do in the future as His Hands International.
During our meeting we tried to find out if any of the board members had been changed. It was indicated that they were and that one name, his Pastor, was possibly one of the new directors. When we called Pastor, he did not immediately have any relocation of signing any documents, but did remember giving them a copy of his ID, by the way they had a copy of my old expired passport as well. We asked to meet with him early Sunday morning and he agreed. When he did not show, an excuse was given about a flat tire on his motorcycle, so we went to him at his church and home, where I noticed no flat tire and another vehicle sitting in the driveway, which was not there a day earlier when we went to look for him. There is something deep going on here I thought to myself when a prominent Pastor who has a TV channel also lies and tries to cover up the truth for these two.
My team and another friend and mission team member that spoke Spanish accompanied me as a witnesses and to help translate. In addition the entire conversation was recorded on my telephone. To begin the conversation, Pastor was again asked if he was a board member because it was indicated that he was and that they had projects together. He again stated that he may or may not be, he did not recall. I laid out the foundation of deceit from the beginning as I have already for you above and the reason we needed to regain control. Pastor indicated that both the individuals blamed me for signing contracts and creating enormous debts for the ministry in which one supposedly had to sell a vehicle (personally, I have never seen him drive, his eyesight I believe is horrible and I do not believe he can see well enough to drive), and take a loan on his house or something like that, (again I am not even sure it was his, last I knew he lived with his family and did not believe that he owned any property). First, I have never signed any contracts or created any debts with them, if there are debts, they created them or forged my signature. Secondly, how could I since I am not an officer or even listed as the founder of the organization. The one had mentioned this in our meeting with him, yet refused to show evidence or proof of any contract or bill in which I supposedly created that caused them such debt.
Pastor continued to indicate that they had done only a few things in the past like buying medicine and maybe some shoes or clothing or something like that. But recently just became active again. He said he heard something about them possibly trying to get a loan for millions of dollars, possibly using the credibility of the ministry, to purchase a banana plantation or something said similar to buying a farm or something. I personally think they are trying to take credit for the work we were doing in Guatemala and somehow convince the bank that it was their work and His Hands International of the US was making donations, as the documents indicate. This is why we must protect ourselves and denounce His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G. There appears to be a pattern of fraud and deceit from the very beginning. I believe there is something going on and I believe the Holy Spirit brought this to our attention at this time, to help us protect the work HE has done through us. Pastor XXX said that we had like 3 options, one was to change our name and start a new organization, the second was to pay them off or buy them out, the third was to bring them into our current ministry team to include them in whatever we are doing. I asked what about a 4th option, for biblical church discipline and accountability. Our work, passion, and heart for serving the poor was evident and well documented in Guatemala through the changed lives of those we serve, thoroughly well documented through video recorded testimonies, published photos and well documented stories published publicly on our web site, and social media of not just our ministry, but other ministries and individuals that have been involved with us over the last decade. A complete opposite to their claims of lying and cheating the people of Guatemala.
So here we are today. My heart is sad because I feel these individuals are blinded by greed or some sort of pride that has caused all this deceit. Now we have to go through the process of creating a new organization in Guatemala and paying for all the documents all over again. However, I am joyful because God is working through us mightily and Satan is mad and trying to attack. This is why I have made this denouncement, to refute the accusations and our involvement in any way with His Hands International of Guatemala O.N.G. and for us to close this chapter and move on without anymore distractions.
This in anyway does not affect our current work in Los Limones, Gualan, or any other ministry partnerships we are involved with. His work continues!
