Living Waters Project #5

If you would have told me that God was going to use me in the future to engineer a clean water project for several villages, I would have told you that you were crazy. Never put God in a box on how he can use you, or what he will enable you to do. In the beginning I spent an enormous amount of time on research, and there were lots of trials and errors. However, if you don’t try, and you don’t fail, you don’t learn. With this being the 5th well we have done, we have learned a lot along the way.

Each of our past wells have had a similar design. You have of course the main ingredient, the water source being the well, which we build a room around the well to protect it and house our equipment. Our first 3 wells were all solar powered initially, until we brought electricity to the village. Now all of our wells have been converted to electric for a more reliable system.

This 5th well was done a little differently. We had an excellent location with an abundant amount of water, however this location was in a lower area of the village. So the well was in one location, and the water tower was in the highest part of the village. This made for an interesting installation. Final design was to run the water line directly to the water tower using a pump with a pressure tank and switch at the well. This way we did not need to run any electrical wire for a tank level switch, instead we used a normal industrial float and when it closed, the pressure switch at the well cut the pump off.

As you may have read in a previous story about this village, they only had water a few hours a day if even that. Now the water is available for them 24 hours a day. And we installed 7 new sinks and locations to get water, bathe, and wash clothes. With this new well, we provide water for over 100 families, in 2 different villages, through over 2 dozen sinks, and over 2 miles of water lines. The wells are producing over 20,000 gallons of water a day in the dry season!!! This is GOD at work!

The first thing we tell the folks when we dedicate each well, always give thanks to the Lord for providing the water. This is a gift from him….and that he also has another gift, the gift of eternal life through Jesus!

Folks, this ministry saves and changes lives everyday. We can not do it without you! We are grateful for those who give to help us be the Hands and Feet of Jesus. We are HIS hands, to do HIS work, and most importantly, to give HIM the GLORY!!
