Upwards

What may look like ordinary concrete steps, are so much more for us. Our goal and focus are always on an upwards direction, physically and spiritually. Steps are generally built to make a way for you to get to a higher level. But these steps, these steps will allow us to take young minds to a higher level. Our goal is to give this generation of children, in this village, the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty in their lives.

Poverty is a mindset directly from the pits of Hell. I have experienced this time and time again with the folks we have tried to help. Although we do give handouts from time to time to help folks in need, our primary efforts are a hand up approach. Our goal is always to help a family in some tangible way that blesses them with a physical need giving them a little relief and hope in the name of JESUS.

Unfortunately, satan is also there causing them to think, well to be honest, stupidly. Stinkin thinkin I call it! There are so many cases where we have tried to help folks out of the goodness of our hearts, for their children’s sake. Because these parents are blinded by satan they are fine with their life of poverty. I have many examples where we have invested time, effort, and money into helping, to later find out items such as roofing, beds, etc were sold by the parents, and the children are back to sleeping on cardboard boxes on the dirt with leaky roofs. Job offers to work and earn a living to provide for their family with a fantastic future, folks have walked away to return to their life of poverty with no vision or dream for the future. This is not one particular family, just an example of some of the stinkin thinkin where satan has blinded the parents. It breaks my heart when these parents can’t see past today.

Our original design for this building was a mission home and a small clinic. However, over time as we listened to the Holy Spirit, HE changed our plans into HIS plans. I have learned that HIS plans, are always better than any plan we may have! As we wait for the Lord to provide the funds for our new mission home and Center of Dreams, I had a vision from the Lord which reminded me of something I told a Pastor of another church one time, “God is not going to bless with another building until you fill and take care of this one”, or something to that effect. Today, that Pastor has moved on and they never built the building. For me, the Lord reminded me of my own words to this Pastor. We have a building that has a foundation engineered for 3 levels and we are not using it to its full potential.

There is a reason we hit the pause button on the construction of this location and purchased the land behind us. We do not own this land at the moment, just the rights to use it. It belongs to the railroad company. After speaking with their lawyers, the train will not be passing this way and they may either just give us the land or sell it to us at some point 25 or more years from now. These children can’t wait 25 years, neither can we. Jesus is coming soon, and we need to get busy!!

This past July we started the construction to build the steps to the second floor. This second floor will be our first Center of Dreams. It will have a kitchen to prepare meals, classrooms, and a computer lab. The goal is to create dreams in these young minds, to start their journey upwards. This journey upwards will first teach them about Jesus and HIS love for them. Then we will teach them life skills, and Lord willing common sense if that can be taught, along with the tools they need to break that bond that satan has them in through no fault of their own. If we do nothing, if we do not try, nothing will change. Even if we change just one child, for the glory of God we will have made a difference.

I have good news to report, we have already made a difference in many children and now we are ready to take them upwards to the next level. Will you help us? I know things are tight for everyone, but you would be amazed at what God can do with a little. Just look at our website at all the God sized stories how God has provided. We average way less than $50,000 per year in donations yet look at what all GOD has done through us. It is just amazing when I look back how God always provides and seems to make our money go further than humanly possible. There are so many more things that God has done that are not published. We are so blessed….to be a blessing!

Additionally, this past summer we added a glass interior door to help keep the dust out and keep the air conditioning in. Additionally, we had some beautiful cabinets made for our medical supplies. Little things like this make a huge difference in the care we are able to provide.
